Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Hundreds of soap fans rallied in Southern California last weekend for GH Fan Club Weekend. Throughout the weekend, 26 events were attended by hundreds of fans who enjoyed the time chatting it up with their favorite actors from the ABC daytime drama, General Hospital. One event in particular was the talk of the weekend, Kent King & Minae Noji threw a party like no other!

After months of planning the Girl’s Night Out party, the night had finally arrived. We were anxious, nervous, and so excited about the event and to see all of our hard work come to fruition. Fans started to arrive about 8 and a smooth continuous flow of fans for the next hour. A video had been made to show off Kent & Minae’s work on General Hospital, with added special effects and finishing touches, it was shown to kick off the party. Fans roared with applause and laughter as they watched the video that was made by Michelle Klein and Tricia Guirado.

At the close of the video, Kent & Minae made their grand entrance. The applause for these two lovely ladies was overwhelming. The party got started with a Question and Answer session, and a few unexpected guests. Ignacio Serricho arrived and joined in on the fun. In a very short time Kent & Minae’s guests started to arrive. Graham Shiels (Cody Paul), Adrian Alvarado (Det. Cruz Rodriguez), Ron Melendez (Dr. Andy Archer), Sonya Eddy (Epiphany Johnson), Jason Gerhardt (Cooper Barrett) all arrived and each one enjoyed the roar of the crowd. The party continued on as Kent & Minae kicked it into high gear.

Kent & Minae got everyone involved as they introduced the crowd to some drinking games and some trivia about them. A few unexpected happenings throughout the night kept the party lively and a few more special guests made their entrance. Dominic Rains and his brother Ethan joined in on the fun, as did Kimberly McCullough and Kiko Ellsworth.

About 11:30, Kent and Minae went to the back of the room and the crowd formed a line for autographs and pictures, while others mingled with the special guests on the opposite side of the room. As the night went on, the party started to dwindle down and fans were leaving the party very well satisfied. “Money well spent, it was a great event," “Congratulations on a well put together party," “We had a great time," and the compliments and praises continued throughout the weekend from those attended.

Kent & Minae finished with the autographs and photos about 1am. All of us congratulated each other for a job well done and we said goodnight to each other. With the much success of this year’s fan event, fans need to stay tuned to find out if a GNO party for FCW 2009 will be in the works.
