'Smallville' Gains A Villain in Brian Austin Green

‘Terminator’ and ‘90210’ alum Brian Austin Green heading to ‘Smallville’!

Just weeks after contract talks stopped between Brian Austin Green and One Tree Hill, the actor is joining another CW show, Smallville. Brian will play Metallo, a DC Comics cyborg supervillain, according to Matt Mitovitch of TVGuide. Brian will be at least the first two episodes of the new season when his villains alter ego, John Corben, lands a job alongside Clark Kent at the Daily Planet.  Smallville’s ninth season begins on Friday, September 25th.

Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly reported earlier this month that Brian was in “advanced talks” to join the show as Clayton, Nathan’s (James Lafferty) sports agent. According to his Tree Hill insider, “it was pretty much a done deal.” Contract talks broke down soon after, and with Green backing out, the CW turned to Robert Buckley (Privileged and Lipstick Jungle) to replace him.

All of this comes after his own CW show, Body Politic, was passed over by The CW. Gossip has also been buzzing that the net tried to lure him back to the new 90210 in the role that made him famous, David Silver.
