Crystal Chappell Returns to ‘Days of our Lives’

Sorry all you Guiding Light and Otalia fans out there, If GL finds a new home it will be without Olivia. Crystal Chappell has decided to rejoin the soap where it all started at, Days of our Lives.

Crystal will return to her old stomping ground as Carly Manning, the first woman Bo Brady fell in love with after Hope, this fall after she wraps up at GL. In an exclusive interview with TVGuide Crystal spoke out about her choice saying “I sure didn’t expect this at all but it’s very exciting. I was in L.A. a couple of weeks ago and had some meetings set up to discuss the future. [Days exec producer] Gary Tomlin called and asked if I’d be interested in coming back. We had lunch and, a week or so later, we had a deal.”

Crystal was with days for three years. She met her husband, Michael Sabatino (ex-Lawrence, Days), on the show and then went on to One Life To Live before landing on Guiding Light. She has been nominated for five Emmy’s, winning two.

While on Days Chappell became the centeral show heroine. A role left vacated by Deidra Hall (Marlena) and Kristian Alfonso (Hope). She experienced it all from long lost siblings, being a princess, love triangles, weddings, and even being buried alive. But what Carly is most remembered for his her relationship with Bo Brady (Peter Reckell; Robert Kelker Kelly)

So will Carly be stealing former love Bo Brady from his current wife Hope? Or will she find herself falling once again for his father Victor? Perhaps someone new? None of that is clear just yet, but this is what Chappell had to say about Carly & Bo getting back together “It’s been 16 years since I played Carly and she is probably a very different person now. It’s an opportunity to go back and reestablish something, and at the same time reinvent it. I look back at Days as an experience that was lovely and romantic but also, because it was my first big job, the whole thing was overwhelming, actually.”

Chappell stated that she will film at GL until the end, Aug 1st, before starting to tape at Days. No first airdate was given.
