Laura Wright Signs New Deal With 'GH'

Laura Wright signs new multi-year contract with “General Hospital.”

General Hospital fans will be able to enjoy Laura Wright’s version of Carly Corinthos-Jacks a little while longer! On Thursday, November 4, the actress announced on her personal Twitter that she signed a new multi-year contract with the show. “I just signed another 4 years!!! You guys are stuck with me,” the actress tweeted.

Fans were introduced to the former Guiding Light actress in 2005, when Wright took over the role of then Carly Corinthos-Alcazar from Jennifer Bransford (ex-Georgie, OLTL). The actress spent eight years as Cassie Layne Winslow on the CBS soap opera Guiding Light, which was just recently canceled after 72 years on on the air. Prior to her role on Guiding Light, she appeared on the ABC soap opera Loving and it’s spinoff The City as Ally Rescott Bowman from 1991-1995.

Since joining GH, Laura has been featured prominently in most, if not all of the major storylines. The actress was pre-nominated in the Outstanding Lead Actress category by her show for the past 3 years. Wright’s character Carly is currently married to Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) and recently gave birth to a baby girl, Josslyn John Jacks on the November 3, 2009 episode.
