Aaron Sanders Takes Over The Role of Morgan Corinthos

General Hospital recasts Morgan Corinthos with newcomer Aaron Sanders.

ABC Soaps In Depth is reporting that General Hospital will recast the role of Morgan Corinthos. Aaron Sanders will take over the role of Morgan from Aaron Refvem, who’s departing the soap opera due to his role on the upcoming NBC pilot This Little Piggy. "Due to a scheduling conflict with an upcoming pilot for Aaron, Aaron Sanders has now been cast in the role of Carly and Sonny’s son, Morgan," says a GH rep.

Last year, General Hospital decided to age four of its younger characters for storyline purposes. Drew Garrett assumed the role of a newly aged 17 year old Michael on April 24, 2009. Lexi Ainsworth assumed the role of a 16 year old Kristina on May 18, 2009. Aaron Refvem assumed the role of 12 year old Morgan on May 12, 2009. The show later cast Haley Alexis Pullos as 10 year old Molly.

This news marks the second child of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) & Carly Jacks (Laura Wright) to be recast within the last week. Drew Garrett was fired last week and replaced with daytime newcomer Chad Duell. Duell will first air on Tuesday, April 20. ABC SID stressed to fans still angry with Garrett’s departure: "Okay, people, remember: GH didn’t FIRE Aaron. He got a pilot that was picked up by NBC. Not GH’s choice!"

Sanders first airs on Wednesday, April 14. Morgan begins his testimony that week as well. How will the youngster fair under harsh examination by federal prosecutor Claire Walsh? Look for those close to Morgan to not be pleased with Ms. Walsh’s line of questioning.
