'Fockers' Retains Top Spot At Box Office

‘Little Fockers’ holds on to #1 during New Years weekend.

“Little Fockers” Remains At #1 For Second Week In A Row”

“Little Fockers” held tight at the #1 spot for the second week in a row during the New Years weekend pulling in $26.3 million in three days and tallying up $103.2 million to date. The third film in the “Fockers” franchise beat “True Grit,” which earned $24.5 million for the weekend and $86.8 million to date. On Friday, “True Grit” shot to #1, yet “Little Fockers” was the comeback film on Saturday.

“Tron: Legacy” was in 3rd place with $18.3 million and pulling in #130.9 million since its release date. According to “Hitflix,” Disney’s Sci-Fi extravaganza will face its toughest test on January 14th, when it looses a significant number of IMAX screens to Sony Pictures’ “The Green Hornet.”

“Yogi Bear” came in 4th place, grossing another $13 million, making so far its total to $66 million.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader dropped to #5, pulling in only $10.5 million and earning just $87.1 million since its release date. Overseas sales have helped save the third sequel in the franchise, with 70% of its worldwide gross coming from foreign markets.

Released in only 700 theaters nationwide, “The King’s Speech” entered the top 10, banking in $7.5 million.
