James Scott In Contract Negotiations, "Optimistic" About DAYS Future

0

Not leaving just yet! James Scott (EJ) is ‘optimistic’ about negotiations with executives to continue on at Days of our Lives.

Fans of soap star James Scott (EJ, DAYS) were sent into a panic this afternoon after rumors of his departure were greatly exaggerated reported by Soap Opera Digest. The headline, “James Scott Leaving DAYS!” told the story of the actor leaving the show at the conclusion of his contract. The magazine said Scott and DAYS were “unable to come to terms on a new deal.”

This was news to head writers Marlene McPherson and Darrell Ray Thomas. The scribe wrote, “This is the first [Darrell Ray Thomas] and I have heard about James Scott. According to Greg Meng, they are in negotiations.” Digest would later update their article after receiving “word” that talks with the actor resumed.

About a half-hour ago, TVSource received an e-mail from DAYS rep with comments from James Scott. “It has always been my wish to continue working with ‘Days of our Lives,’ and in light of recent reassurances given, I am optimistic of my future here at Days!”

Scott’s exit would be a severe blow to the series, in which the actor has played a pivotal role in key storylines since his arrival in 2006. The two-time Emmy nominee is also set to play an important role during fall storylines, which include his character EJ DiMera running for mayor of Salem.

TVSource will keep you updated any further information regarding Scott’s negotiations.

My POV: If you’re a fan of James Scott, make those phone calls and write those letters in support of the star. Let DAYS know just how valuable you think he is to the show.
