The CW is in talks to acquire The L.A. Complex, a steamy Canadian sudser set to debut on CTV’s MuchMusic this week.

Complex, created by Martin Gero (Bored to Death), follows the lives of twenty-something’s with big aspirations living in an apartment complex ala Melrose Place. The series Australian soap star Jonathan Patrick Moore (Neighbors) as Connor, an Australian with a dark past, and Degrassi’s Cassie Steele as Abby, a girl with big Hollywood dreams.

The network is looking to add six episodes to its schedule this summer, and depending its run in Canada, pick up a full 13-episode season. The move is part of CW President Mark Pedowitz’s plan to revamp the model of the network.
