‘Melrose Place’ alum Katie Cassidy, ‘Kings” Susanna Thompson and ‘The O.C.’s’ Willa Holland cast on the CW’s superhero series, ‘Arrow.’
Arrow has found its leading lady in the form of CW alumna Katie Cassidy. The 25-year old star will play Laurel, a young attorney who shares a romantic past with Stephen Ammel’s Oliver Queen/Green Arrow. Laurel is based off her comic book counterpart Dinah “Laurel” Lance, aka Black Canary. Arrow marks Cassidy’s fourth high-profile role on a CW series, appearing and/or starring in Supernatural, Melrose Place and Gossip Girl.
Joining Cassidy in Star City (the setting of Arrow) is Gossip Girl and The O.C. alum Willa Holland. Holland will play Thea, Oliver’s younger sister – a socialite bad girl with a penchant for being tabloid fodder. Also joining the cast is Kings‘ Susanna Thompson, playing Moira Queen, the mother of Oliver and Thea.
