Mamie Gummer, star of the CW’s new medical drama Emily Owens, M.D., shares some glimpses into her character’s very busy mind in a new promo.

Emily is juggling trying to impress her new boss, Dr. Gina Bandari (Necar Zadegan), in addition to being faced with her high school nemesis, Cassandra Kopelson (Aja Naomi King). Emily is also more than a little distracted (who could blame her) by her med school crush, Will Collins (Justin Hartley) as she wonders if he could possibly like her too. 

Emily Owens, M.D. premieres Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 9 p.m., following Hart of Dixie on The CW.
