'Gossip Girl' Photo Preview: "High Infidelity"

There’s only a few days to go before “Gossip Girl” premieres its sixth and final season on The CW. In the meantime, the network has released photos and the official episode description for episode 6×02, “High Infidelity.”

From The CW: “FRESH STARTS — Trying to prove herself in adult society, Serena (Blake Lively) hosts the Central Park Conservancy’s big gala, of which she is now the newest Board Member, and she and Nate (Chace Crawford) both learn something shocking about their significant others. Blair prepares (Leighton Meester) to debut her new fashion line, but a rival from her past holds the key to her future. With the help of Georgina (guest star Michelle Trachtenberg), Dan (Penn Badgley) lands some meetings with publishers, but he must decide if he is willing to sacrifice his integrity in order to get his work published. Meanwhile, Chuck (Ed Westwick) tries to persuade Amira (guest star Andrea Gabriel, “Lost”) to help him look into his father’s past, even if it means jeopardizing Lily (Kelly Rutherford) and Bart’s (guest star Robert John Burke) relationship. Matthew Settle and Kaylee DeFer also star. Barry Watson and Sofia Black-D’Elia guest star. Joe Lazarov directed the episode written by Annemarie Navar-Gill.”

While the season premiere focuses on what happened over the summer and then does a mini-time jump to transport the gang back to the Upper East Side, the season’s second episode spends a lot of time focusing on the career paths the gang has chosen for themselves. Chuck goes head to head with his (not-so-dead) father, Blair is going out of her way to prove herself to her mother and Dan and Georgina are shopping his tell-all book to every publisher in New York with very mixed results.

Nate and Serena have their own business obligations as well, but their storyline centers on their new relationships. The two friends find out that the people in their lives might not have been completely honest with them and it throws them for quite the loop. But they each take a very different approach to the situation and the results are explosive…
