Days of our Lives star Eileen Davidson is returning to her old stomping grounds at CBS’ The Young and the Restless in time for the soaps 40th anniversary!

Daytime Confidential’s Jamey Giddens was the first to report on Davidson’s return. Soon after, Angelica McDaniel, CBS’ Senior Vice President of Daytime would confirm DC’s scoop by tweeting “BIG Welcome back to @eileen_davidson! #YR40 #YR_CBS #CBSDaytime”. In addition, the CBS website published photos of the actress on set with former co-stars Peter Bergman (Jack) and Michelle Stafford (Phyllis).

In May of last year, Davidson was let go from the show for a second time. Less than two months later, she was hired to return to Days of our Lives as Kristen Blake DiMera.

McDaniel recently commented on the losing Davidson in the newest edition of Soap Opera Digest, on sale now. “As we lost Eileen Davidson – which is such a travesty and a disappointment for Young and the Restless, and we hope to have her back – Jack’s family was getting smaller!”

For months, rumors spread of Y&R’s interest in having Davidson return to the show. It was reported in the February 11 issue of Soap Opera Digest that DAYS rejected a recent overture for the actress. It looks like everything worked out for the best.
