ABC has tapped familiar faces from popular series to lead the pilot for Sophia Vergara’s Killer Women.

Battlestar Galactica alum Tricia Helfer and Necessary Roughness star Marc Blucas have been tapped to star in the network’s adaptation of Argentine import Mujeres Asesinas, known as Killer Women.

Helfner will play the lead role of Molly Parker, the only female Texas Ranger and daughter of the town’s sheriff. Described as a “ballsy, beautiful badass,” Molly is a former beauty queen who isn’t afraid of crossing the line in order to get to the truth. Her professional is going well, but her personal life is a different story. After a messy divorce, she moves in with her older brother Billy and his two daughters.

Blucas will play Dan, Molly’s potential love interest and case partner. A dedicated DEA agent, Dan is described as “East Coast educated” and “highly noncommittal.” He is drawn to Molly and enters a physical relationship with her.

Hannah Shakespeare is penning the ABC Studios pilot. Modern Family’s Sofia Vergara will serve as co-executive producer along with Martin Campbell.
