‘Arrow’s’ John Barrowman lands guest spot on ‘Scandal’

Arrow’s Dark Archer is hanging up his bow for a brief trip to Washington to visit Olivia Pope. John Barrowman, one of the vigilante drama’s most popular guest stars, has booked a role on Scandal.

On Tuesday night, Scandal’s creator and executive producer Shonda Rhimes announced the casting on her Twitter account. Rhimes wrote, “John Barrowman is here working at @ScandalABC today. Life is good. #torchwood #captainjack #iamanerd.”

No other details have been released about the guest stint, but we do know Barrowman will appear in the episode airing May 9, which is the episode before the second season finale.

Barrowman, who is probably best known for his role as Captain Jack Harkness on Torchwood, has worked with Rhimes before in the Gilded Lilys pilot, which was passed on by ABC.

But Arrow fans don’t need to worry about missing Malcolm Merlyn. The actor tweeted late Tuesday night that he was heading back to Vancouver to film the season finale.

Arrow airs Wednesday on The CW and Scandal airs Thursdays on ABC.
