‘Arrow’ Season Finale Preview: Will someone make the ultimate ‘Sacrifice’? (Poll)

2

Arrow will air its first season finale on The CW this Wednesday and if you’re anything like us, you’re still thinking about last week’s fantastic episode and wondering how the series will possible top itself in “Sacrifice”.

When we last saw Oliver, he’d once again lost a fight to the Dark Archer aka Malcolm Merlyn, who was very upset to learn the hood’s true identity. Oliver is still in Malcolm’s custody when the finale begins and the evil mastermind taunts the younger man that it is too late to stop The Undertaking. After a season of confusion, we know now that The Undertaking is actually an earthquake machine designed to level The Glades.

Obviously, Oliver doesn’t want that to happen and neither does Moira. She decides to do the right thing and confess her part in the treachery on live TV, which immediately sends Thea running to The Glades to make sure Roy is safe. Then, there’s Tommy, who finally discovers what his father has been hiding in his secret room. Tommy has made it pretty clear that he doesn’t support Oliver any longer, but does that mean he’s headed to the dark side?

The title of the episode implies that someone might have to make the ultimate sacrifice and lose his or her life in the battle between the archers. Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim has been coy about whether or not one of the main characters will take a final bow in the finale, but it certainly seems like that might be the case.

Here’s what we do know: Oliver isn’t going anywhere. Neither is Laurel or Tommy or Felicity or Roy or Slade (besides, the island had its big death last week: RIP Yao Fei). But that doesn’t mean that the rest of the characters are safe. Who do you think might not be left standing at the end of the finale? Our money is on Malcolm Merlyn since he knows Oliver’s secret, but perhaps the show has a few tricks up its sleeve.

  1. Haha I love how the article says you know Tommy isn’t going anywhere – I think tonight’s episode has something to say about that.

  2. This preview looks awesome, and I’m excited to see more of the Dark Archer versus Arrow for the finale! I can’t seem to live without Arrow, and because I work at DISH was thrilled to get my hands on a Hopper when it was released, and I’ve been happy with it as my DVR ever since. I enjoy how I can use my DISH Hopper to record up to six shows at once during primetime hours. I use this technology to help minimize my personal DVR conflicts, so that I won’t miss episodes of Arrow.
