‘The Vampire Diaries’ Casting News: ‘True Blood’s’ Janina Gavankar is Coming to Mystic Falls

Former True Blood cast member, Janina Gavankkar, has booked a possible recurring role on The Vampire Diaries.

TVLine broke the casting news, stating Gavankar wil play Tessa, “a beautiful, exotic and self-assured woman.” While we’re not quite sure who she’s looking for in Mystic Falls, we know it’ll be a former lover.

She’ll appear in the fifth season’s third episode, which is also a flashback one, and arrive in Mystic Falls looking to rekindle an old flame. Which vampire do you think she has history with? One of the Salvatore brothers, perhaps?

Gavankar has previously appeared on True Blood, Arrow, The League, and The Gates.

The Vampire Diaries returns to The CW Thursday, Oct. 3 at 8  ET/PT.
