Vampire Diaries alum, Matt Davis, has been castin a recurring role on CSI

If you’re missing Alaric Saltzman, you can calm those aches by tuning into CSI when Matt Davis joins the cast in a recurring role this fall. TVLine first reported the casting, revealing that Davis will play the son of a fireman, who is athletic, competitive, and extremely smart. Don’t let his outward appearance fool you though. The character will also be a bit of a loner.

Davis will first appear in late October. The show has yet to release the number of episodes he’s expected to appear.

Since the tragic death of Alaric on The Vampire Diaries, Davis appeared in the short-lived series Cult. Unfortunately, it was canceled after only one season.

CSI returns Wednesday, September 25 on CBS.
