‘Castle’ Preview: It’s Castle vs. Beckett

ABC/Richard Cartwright

Beckett heads back to New York in the next episode of Castle, but her friends at the NYPD might not be thrilled to see her.

In “Need to Know,” former child star Charlie Reynolds is murdered. He played a lovable nerd on an early 90s sitcom, “2 Cool for School” (think Screech from Saved by the Bell). The cast of the sitcom, including star Ramon Russo (Antonio Sabato, Jr.), had just reunited to film a movie.

Castle, Ryan and Esposito are working on solving the crime when Beckett returns from D.C. with McCord in tow. The federal agents take over the case, but they can’t say why or share details with the Beckett’s former colleagues or her fiancé. Naturally, that leads to tension and competition.

But that’s not the only issue Castle will face in the episode. There’s a new detective in the precinct, Frank “Sully” Sullivan (Joshua Bitton). How will he fit in with the crew?

Castle airs Monday, Oct. 7 at 10/9c on ABC.

  1. The title of this episode is not “Need You Now.” It is “Need to Know.” Big difference.
