Newcomer Sean Carrigan, who joined the cast of The Young and the Restless over the summer as hunky doctor Ben “Stitch” Rayburn, has signed a contract with the number one daytime drama.

sean-carrigan-x01“Thrilled to be on contract at #YR and excited for what is ahead for “Stitch” on #CBSDaytime @YRInsider #YandR_CBS #CBS,” wrote the actor on Twitter Friday evening. “Thank you to all the #YR fans for all the kind words!!… Can’t tell how much that means!. Love you all!! @YRInsider @CBSDaytime @YandR_CBS”

Stitch, a former soldier turned doctor, is a friend of fellow war vet Dylan McAvoy (Steve Burton), the long-lost son of Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott)! Stitch also has a connection to Nikki, as he’s treating her for her multiple sclerosis.

Prior to joining soaps, the actor guest starred in on Criminal Minds, The Event, The Closer, Hart of Dixie, and Up All Night. He recently guest starred in the November 13 episode of ABC’s Modern Family.

It’s always nice to an actor, who’s as talented as he is attractive, given more to do on Y&R. What this means for his future? Who knows, but we have some ideas regarding a possible love interest. Chloe perhaps? Maybe Sharon?
