Tuesday night’s episode of The Voice had one full hour of jam packed excitement and it wasn’t just the performances by Team Christina or the duet from Tessanne Chin from Team Adam and Caroline Pennell from Team Cee Lo. On Tuesday evening, all of America was greeted with a big reveal from the host Carson Daly, and yes, many of you know what that was by reading this, but many of you who don’t watch the Emmy Award winning show, don’t.

The show kicked off the night with a medley of the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson and sister Janet Jackson hits, performed by Christina Aguilera and her young musical hopefuls, Jacquie Lee and Matthew Schuler. Christina was dressed to impress, that’s for sure, with the sequined short shorts and sleek black jacket revealing her gams. All three performed Janet’s “Black Cat”, “Scream and “Bad”. Jacquie could possibly be the next Christina if she keeps taking tips from her coach. As for Matt, well, I love that he is always switching things up.

Okay, now about Carson’s reveal to all in the audience, viewers at home, and anyone that was with phones in hand reading what was going on via Twitter. Before things even got underway, Carson made the announcement on live television that Adam Levine, lead singer of the band Maroon 5, was the newest “Sexiest Man Alive” for People Magazine. When Carson pulled out the cover, Adam in pure Adam fashion down played the news, but smiled when congratulations were given from both Carson and the other coaches. Blake, in his joking manner, chimed, “See why I drink so much now? This is why I drink so much, he stole my thunder.”

During the show, my favorite bit, My Confessional, was shown, focusing on the teams and advisors ‘most embarrassing moments”. I think the most funniest was when Matt admitted that he was most embarrassed for sharing on last week’s show that he wet the bed till age seven. You got to love Cher, however, when she said that she had worst embarrassing moment that couldn’t be revealed on television.

The performance of the night included that of Will Champlin, James Wolpert and Kat Robichaud, who performed Fall Out Boy’s “Sugar We’re Going Down”; Tessanne Chin and Caroline Pennell, who sang together on the song “Royals” by Lorde, and Blake Shelton performed ZZ Top’s “Sharp Dressed Man” with his team mates, Cole Vosbury, Ray Boudreau and Austin Jenckes.

It was Adam’s night, not just with the announcement of being on the cover of People magazine, but also having all three of his team mates remain in the competition to make up the Top 8. Christina continued to hold Matt and Jacquie on her team. Unfortunately for Blake Shelton, he lost one of his members, when Austin was sent home and Cee Lo down to just one performer on his team, when once again the “Voice Save” was used on Twitter to keep Caroline in the competition.

Next week will be The Top 8 performances and another night of elimination. With talent so good, it’s so hard to know who will stay in the competition or who will be saying good-bye. Until next time.
