Days of our Lives‘ Ben Ridgeway will have a new face in a couple of weeks! According to Soap Opera Digest, daytime newcomer Justin Gaston has been replaced by former All My Children hunk Robert Scott Wilson (ex-Pete).

Though Gaston made his debut at the end of February, Digest reports the change in actors took place the month before, as Rob Scott Wilson was on set during Days of our Lives’ renewal celebration. Due to the soaps’ filming schedule, Wilson should first air sometime in May.

Rob Scott Wilson made history in 2012 as the winner of CBS’ first-ever male model search for The Price is Right, making him the first male model in the shows’ history. The Boston native later signed on to Prospect Park’s online reboot of All My Children as a newly hunkified Pete Cortlandt.  Not afraid to show some skin, Wilson took part in many racy scenes on the online soap opera, including the infamous sex scene between Pete and Colby (Brooke Newton).

For those unfamiliar with the Ben, he is the brother Jordan (Chrishell Stause). He came to Salem in search of his sister and has shown himself to be extremely protective. He is expected to be a love interest for Abigail Deveraux (Kate Mansi).

It goes without saying, I am THRILLED with this news. When rumors began swirling last week that Rob Wilson was the new Ben, I hoped it would turn out to be true. Wilson is very charming and has a lot of charisma. Being hotter than hell certainly doesn’t hurt either. Hopefully this change means more will be done with the character. Wilson should have been hired on a soap the moment he was free from his contractual obligations to The Online Network. I rank this recast an instant UPGRADE.
