‘The Originals’ Preview: Who Will Win the Ultimate Battle for Power?

Is it just us or does it feel like The Originals has been on hiatus for three years instead of three weeks? We miss our favorite vampires, witches, werewolves and the few humans we’ve come to know and love and thankfully, we only have to wait one more week for the first of five new episodes to carry us through the rest of the season.

When we last left off, all the warring factions had signed a treaty at Elijah’s request. But if this show has taught us anything, it’s that treaties can and will be broken and this one really never stood a chance since Klaus was already making a backdoor deal with Jackson before the blood on the parchment was even dry. So what’s next for the French Quarter?

On Tuesday, the show returns with “The Big Uneasy.” The episode will feature The Feast of the Blessings, a day where members of the community bring the witches gifts in return for blessings (sounds like a pretty sweet deal). Elijah allows the feast to happen, but Genevieve and Monique have a disagreement over what their ancestors would want. That sounds like trouble brewing if you ask us.

Speaking of trouble, all is far from well at Casa Mikaelson. Rebekah has left town (we miss you!), Marcel has been banished and Klaus is not happy that Elijah is trying to keep everyone in line in an effort to impress Hayley. But Elijah is done taking his brother’s burdens and makes it clear to Klaus that if he wants something, he’s going to take it (hmm, where’d you learn that phrase, Elijah?).

As if all of that was not enough for one episode, Marcel and Thierry are teaming up to recreate their army and Diego has some issues with that. And while we’re on the subject of power, Monique and Genevieve are trying to use theirs against Davina, but she gets help from a surprising person – Klaus. What could he possibly have to offer her and will it be enough to sway her loyalties?
