Last week, The Good Wife not only brought back Colin Sweeney to entertain us, but also gifted us a visit from Alicia’s brother Owen Cavanaugh. However, this week? This week we get the incomparable Stockard Channing back as Alicia’s mother Veronica Loy.

After meeting and eating with an alluring gentleman she encounters while serving jury duty in the upcoming episode, ‘The Deep Web’, Alicia starts to contemplate choices outside of the current situation of her marriage. Proving how conflicted she is feeling, she does the last thing we’d actually expect her to, she calls her mother for advice (In case you were wondering, yes, this is what I am most looking forward to seeing this Sunday). The question here is not why she chose to call on her mother. It is, why is she so conflicted to begin with? We need details.

Over at Lockhart/Gardner, Diane takes Kalinda up on her offer of assistance once again. This time, since it’s quite obvious that they are up to something, it’s to find out what moves David Lee and Louis Canning are plotting to take against her. Boy, that David Lee sure doesn’t quit, does he? As if that’s not enough for her to contend with, Diane gets a visit from her friends who are seeking out legal advice when their son is accused of peddling narcotics via the World Wide Web.

Seeing as this is the first of the last three episodes of season five, I fully expect this episode to shift the show even further into high gear. I think it is safe to say that we are in for lots of drama, even some laughs, major moves and possibly another surprise or two.

Check out the photos provided by CBS and the video preview, then hit the comments and let us know what you’re looking forward to the most this Sunday! (Psst! STOCKARD CHANNING!).

The Good Wife airs Sunday, May 4 at 9/8c on CBS.
