OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTOR

JB: There were only two reels I enjoyed in this category – Bradford Anderson and Dominic Zamprogna’s. I really didn’t care for other submissions for a multitude of reasons. Eric Martsolf’s performance was over the top and his scenes partners didn’t add anything to his. Scott Clifton’s reel fell flat due to the choppy editing. Steve Burton’s screen partner out acted him and there is a moment or two where he came across expressionless.

I went with Bradford Anderson because of the range displayed – his character was flooded with many emotions at once and he perfected them all. The character of Spinelli was very well written under Ron Carlivati, and it wouldn’t have worked if Bradford wasn’t the vehicle used to bring him to life. During his final year on the show, Anderson’s character matured and so did the way he portrayed him – effectively transitioning the character from lovesick sidekick to a man wanting a family and stable life.

RWN: Hands down, this category belongs to Bradford Anderson. His displayed a wide range of emotions, with his controlled anger being the highlight of the reel. I remember the day this episode aired I remarked on Twitter that Anderson should submit this episode. This is how you commit to the material, 100 percent. I disagreed with Jenn about Steve Burton’s submission. I feel like he was the star of his reel, and Melissa Claire Egan was the weakest link. No one does reserved emotion the way Burton does, and he was at his finest here. Dylan learned he was no longer a father, and all the hopes and dreams he pinned on being a father was now taken away from him. I felt his pain and anger towards Chelsea. I really enjoyed his tape.

Don’t discount Steve Burton. He might pull off the upset victory.

MT: I had to go with Dominic Zamprogna.
