‘Baby Daddy’ Stars Derek Theler, Melissa Peterman to Guest Star on ‘General Hospital’

Derek Theler

In a show of corporate family synergy, two stars from ABC Family’s Baby Daddy, Derek Theler and Melissa Peterman, will cross over to ABC’s General Hospital during February sweeps.

As first reported by Entertainment Weekly, Theler and Peterman, who play Danny and Bonnie Wheel on the ABC Family comedy, will appear during a special Valentine’s Day episode. Here’s a little backstory about this crossover. GH star Kelly Monaco (Sam) filmed an episode of Baby Daddy in the fall that airs February 4. In the episode, she plays an exaggerated version of herself during Danny’s guest starring role on the soap.

Look for Derek Theler and Melissa Peterman to be involved in storylines involving Sam (Monaco), Patrick (Jason Thompson), Ned (Wally Kurth), Olivia (Lisa LoCicero), Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and Julian (William deVry).

Theler will play a doctor named Derek, a colleague of Patrick’s who is stood up on Valentine’s Day. He runs into Sam, who is also stood up thanks to a last minute consultation that required Patrick’s presence. Sam and Derek will bond and discover the true meaning of Valentine’s Day.

Meanwhile, Peterman will play Melissa Santoro Picard, an old friend of Olivia’s from Bensonhurst. When Melissa learns the reason behind her friend being upset, she confronts Ned about his treatment of Olivia and recognizes someone she knows working at the Quartermaine Mansion.

The General Hospital episode will air February 13.
