Poor Thomas. The kid really hasn’t been able to catch a break since she came back into town. This week he was summoned out to Venice by his father not once but twice. Once to be told that Ridge and Caroline were back together and again later that day to be told they were engaged. I didn’t get the point of this… other than the obvious “we slept together so lets stand here in awkward silence” soap trope. But yes, 24 hours after breaking up with Caroline, Ridge then popped the question to which Caroline ecstatically said yes.

Ridge promised her all of the dreams she had, he would make come true without actually telling her that me might be physically unable. Yes, in his declaration of love Ridge left out the part about his vasectomy. The next day and they shared the news with everyone, they were met with lots of different responses. None of which better than the reaction of Caroline’s uncle Bill.

I hate that he and Katie aren’t on more but I do like that when they are allowed out to play, it is always worth it. Bill had the reaction we all knew he would. Disgust. Disgust that it was the dressmaker and disgust that Caroline was allowing herself to be yet the latest in a long line of women Ridge has promised forever to. Caroline worked her uncle into at least accepting her decision although not agreeing with it, but Brooke not so much. Brooke began to ask Caroline questions that she clearly didn’t understand the reasons behind. Clear that Caroline didn’t know everything, Brooke went to get answers from Ridge who admitted he was still lying to Caroline but would have his procedure reversed before she would be the wiser. I don’t know exactly how he plans to go through surgery and recovery without her knowing but its clear he hasn’t thought any of this through yet. He’s just living in the moment, dontcha know. Brooke pushed Ridge to tell Caroline or she would. Caroline didn’t want to hear any of it and Ridge told Brooke it was none of her business and to stay out of it. And unless they give Brooke another motivation in this, I will have to agree with Ridge.

While Ridge was dealing with his lie, Caroline was dealing with hers. In what seemed pretty random, Caroline ran into Thomas on her way to the bathroom and returned to tell him she wasn’t pregnant. Thomas seemed as confused as I was that that was something that was even on her mind. Especially considering their encounter was only 2 days prior. But hey, its a soap. They then rehashed the events of that night and Thomas again vowed to Caroline that he didnt take advantage of her and he is not that guy to which she agreed. They also agreed to never speak of it again. I’m sure that won’t last long. Caroline then went to go play peacemaker between Ridge and Bill who agreed to acceptance. After it seemed everyone was on board, Ridge asked Caroline to elope that day. Still living in the moment, she again agreed. Across the hall Thomas threw himself in his work to get Caroline off his mind and decided to ask Zende to be his right hand man and stand next to him as the next generation of Forrester with Nicole standing between them. Afterwards, while working out, Nicole in a way called out Zende for being clueless and moving too slow and he warned her about getting in the middle of whatever Thomas may or may not be feeling for Caroline. These things will come into play in a very interesting way this week!
