Port Charles’ favorite “Doc” is checking back into General Hospital! Jon Lindstrom returns as Dr. Kevin Collins next week reports Soap Opera Digest.
Last seen in 2014, the character was briefly recast for one episode in January 2015 as Lindstrom was unavailability while filming HBO’s True Detective.
Created in 1993, Kevin ecame a fan favorite when paired with Lynn Herring’s quirky Lucy Coe. Lucy and Kevin would anchor the 1997 General Hospital spinoff Port Charles until the series cancelation in 2003. Other than a brief GH visit in 2004, Kevin wouldn’t resurface again until 2013, when the character was brought back by former head writer Ron Carlivati.
Unfortunately for fans, Kevin and Lucy have remained largely peripheral characters (along with Mac and Felicia). Hopefully that’ll change under new head writers Shelly Altman and Jean Passanante. Lindstrom was a major part of Passanante’s storylines during his 2008-2010 run as As the World Turns’ Craig Montgomery.
One can dream, yeah?
