Soap legend Tristan Rogers will be pulling double duty in the weeks to come. The Young and the Restless star will make a short return to General Hospital as secret agent Robert Scorpio this December.

ABC announced the fan favorite’s return to the show on Wednesday, October 29. “Scorpio is such a beloved legacy character who evokes a sense of nostalgia and I know the fans have been patiently waiting for Tristan’s return,” said executive producer Frank Valentini in a statement. “I share their sentiments and enthusiasm and that of our entire GH team in welcoming him home.”

“I am delighted to be visiting my GH family once again and look forward to what Robert Scorpio has in store,” said Rogers.

Rogers’ return to GH will not be a permanent one. A rep for the actor makes it clear he’s not leaving Y&R. “Tristan is only visiting Port Charles for a very short time. Tristan will continue with Y&R as Colin. Tristan and I do not want the fans to be misguided in any way.”

Rogers was last seen on General Hospital in 2014.

Tristan Rogers’ return is the latest in a slew of announcements from the lone ABC soap. Earlier this week, longtime GH stars Finola Hughes and Genie Francis extended their contracts; fan favorite Kimberly McCullough is returning as Robin Scorpio-Drake for another stint and there’s more to come.

“It’s been a fantastic week of casting announcements for GH, but it’s not over yet,” said Valentini.
