The CW’s The Vampire Diaries will lose another one of its original cast members. Kat Graham, who plays witch Bonnie Bennett, announced plans to depart the series after its eighth season.

The 26-year old actress and singer made her announcement to Us Weekly during the iHeartRadio Music Awards on April 3.

“Season 8 will be my last season,” Graham says. “I just hope that whatever I do after, the crew can come with me. If the crew can come with me, then we’ll be good. The crew is going to be the hardest thing to let go, because we are a family. But you know what, another season is a whole other year, and we’re going to blow it out.”

The news comes almost a month after the network renewed the supernatural series for an eighth season. The Vampire Diaries has been in the situation before, having lost star Nina Dobrev at the end of Season 7. The series’ renewal was contingent on star Ian Somerhalder re-signing with the series.

We’re sure Bonnie will go out with a bang. And don’t fret for Graham — the multi-hyphenate talent has projects in the pipe, including a television series she sold to The CW where she’ll serve as an executive producer if it’s picked up.
