Fans have heard about the mysterious ex-wife of General Hospital’s hottie cop Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) for months now, and in July you’ll finally see her! One Life to Live alum Bree Williamson has been cast the woman who break Nathan’s heart.
As first reported by Daytime Confidential, an ABC rep confirmed the Canadian beauty landed the role of the oft-mentioned character. Look for her to first air in July.
Based on what we know about Claudette (she’s gonna need a nickname), she and Nathan fell into a whirlwind romance that led to a green card marriage. Nathan fell really hard, and Claudette, well, she fell onto someone else. After Nathan discovered she was having an affair, he severed all ties and got their marriage annulled. But there’s more to this story. See, Nathan is harboring major pieces of information from Maxie regarding this past with her, and it seems like only his nefarious biological mother aka mutter, Obrecht, knows the truth. Further complicated matters is it appears she has a connection to Dr. Griffin Munroe (Matt Cohen).
Williamson told Soap Opera Digest she accepted the role after being called by GH’s executive producer Frank Valentini, her former boss at OLTL. “He said that Claudette is spicy and a bad girl and that it was going to be fun. And I said, ‘Okay, cool, I’m in!'”.
The actress earned her soap stripes as One Life to Live’s Jessica Buchanan (and later alters Tess, Bess, Wes – a total hot mess) from 2003 – 2012. After the series cancelation, Williamson has kept busy in primetime. She landed high profile roles on SyFy’s Haven, even starred in the ill-fated (and underrated) NBC drama Deception; also appearing in CSI, True Detective and Chicago Fire.
We can’t wait to see Bree on-screen! It’s gonna be a cruel summer for ‘Naxie’.
