I watch a lot of television, probably too much. But can you really watch too much TV? I've yet to find out. Anyway, I especially love TV when they give us positive portrayals of gays, something that has gotten better but we're still fighting for. I've written about gays in television for many years first at the much missed After Elton, then New Now Next and now at TV Source. It's kind of a passion of mine and I look forward to sharing it with you.

  1. Hey, Lucas was on “General Hospital” today! …oh, I’m sorry, just his picture, in recapping this asinine serial killer storyline. It’s crazy, given he’s the only living victim, that he’s not part of this story AT ALL. Ugh.

  2. It’s Iolo’s OCD that is clouding his sanity when it comes to Mel. He obsessed over the attack. He puts a suit on just to go and look at mugshots. He finds out her name. He finds out she is from good stock and artistic. He wants to know why she is a gay-hater. He stalks her like an idiot in a van with his name and contact details on it. She stalks him back. She has barged or broken into his house like multiple times already. So now he is obsessing about that. This has nothing to do with her explaining her homophobia. She is using that to play him in a ploy to taint the criminal case against her.

Since Iolo is hyper-obsessing about the attack, his father, his father’s sentence, the sun and the moon and the everything, Tyler couldn’t sit him down for two seconds. When he does, Iolo tells him to take care of the wedding plans on his own because he can’t concentrate. Tyler “hires” Dani as a wedding planner. Dani finds the discount wedding package online. She wanted the boys to buy it. Tyler says Iolo isn’t around to approve it. Dani takes Garry’s credit card and buys it so the boys don’t miss out on a deal. When Tyler offers to pay, she says think of it as a gift and less the two of them have to worry about.

The story is really not that complicated.

  3. Coronation Street is amazing right now. The romance is cute and the chemistry is off the charts. Sadly I can’t enjoy a single moment of it because I know what’s coming.

  4. On DOOL, was that supposed to be a spark between Chad & Gabi last week? That would be way out of character for Chad when you consider his history with Gabi. I hope I’m wrong.

I thought I had missed an extra EastEnders episode when they didn’t show any of Paul’s funeral. With Ben scheduled to speak and Phil agreeing to go and support him, this was a pretty big event to just happen off-screen. And I agree that Johnny would have been at the funeral. The bits with Dot & Colin seem like an attempt to give the Friday episode a message, but it ended up getting lost with so much going on. As a story arc – even a small one – it deserved to play out over a couple of days.

I don’t like this Mel story on People of the Valley but hope it will develop into something good. Why did Iolo allow her in his home in the first place? This story is getting a little sloppy. I’m glad Iolo & Tyler are postponing the wedding even though I’ve been looking forward to it. There is too much other drama in Iolo’s world right now that would take away the joy of the day. Dani got carried away with the idea of planning a wedding and spent money she shouldn’t have. If/when the wedding happens, I hope Sion makes good on his promise because I’d love for them to move into Y Felin.
