It’s Official: Tonja Walker Returning to ‘General Hospital’

1

Soap veteran Tonja Walker is returning to ABC’s General Hospital in 2017! ABC confirms the network has hired the actress for a prominent role to begin airing in early 2017.

“We are very happy to be bringing Tonja back to GH. While we can’t share what role she’ll be playing, we can guarantee that she’ll be shaking things up in Port Charles,” said Frank Valentini, executive producer in a statement.

Walker previously played mob princess Olivia St. John aka Olivia Jerome from 1988-1990.

Rumors of the actress’ return began swirling after Daytime Confidential reported Tonja Walker was in talks to return to the show.

The Jerome family returned to prominence in recent years in the form of Ava and her daughters Kiki and Avery, and Julian and his children Sam, Lucas (though he’s severely lacking in airtime) and baby Leo. With Julian being blackmailed by a mysterious Oscar Jessup, could that turn out to be Olivia? We’ll know for sure in a few weeks.

Walker’s daytime credits include One Life to Live, where she originated the role of Alex Olanov; Guiding Light, Passions, The Bay and Tainted Dreams.
