Later, when one of the Barton cabs is set on fire, Kasim’s coat is found nearby. Kasim says he’s innocent and Finn defends him. Later, however, the police suspect Finn did it himself to ingratiate himself with Kasim. Uh oh….

I watch a lot of television, probably too much. But can you really watch too much TV? I've yet to find out. Anyway, I especially love TV when they give us positive portrayals of gays, something that has gotten better but we're still fighting for. I've written about gays in television for many years first at the much missed After Elton, then New Now Next and now at TV Source. It's kind of a passion of mine and I look forward to sharing it with you.

  1. Careful what you ask for. We’ve all been saying how Finn should have a story and got our wish with this big ol’ hot mess. I’d love a story for Iolo & Tyler, as well, but am afraid the show will revisit that business about them adopting a child. They haven’t been together long enough to entertain that thought, and it’s a direction that doesn’t interest me at all.

Emmerdale loves to saddle its gay characters with overbearing mothers. It’s not just Emma but goes back to Chas and Hazel. Can’t these guys be independent gay MEN instead of boys whose mother won’t loosen the apron strings and has to get involved in all their decisions?

I’m liking this new, happier Ben on EastEnders. It’s kinda sexy.

  2. I love Toby & Adil

  3. I’m going to take it by your review that you haven’t read the books the Shadowhunters series is based on. A little background without spoiling it for you. The Clave is VERY disapproving of homosexuality. In fact, known homosexuals are usually shunned by the Clave and have even been de-runed. So his virginity is much, much deeper than convincing himself that he’s in love with Jace.

  4. Cam is way sweeter with Jack than he ever was with Kylie. I think with Kylie he was in cocky, charmer mode the entire time. With Jack he’s had a lot of making up to do and a lot of time to ponder Jack’s absence in his life. After rewatching episodes following the whole drugs bust thing, Cam’s attempts at talking/reconnecting with Jack (pre-Jack asking for his job back) were incredibly sweet. You can see he had feelings for Jack back then even.

  5. I stopped watching hollyoaks because of ste and how awful and disgusting he was to jp who just kept being a doormat now that they’re getting close again I’m glad I stopped also I agree with you about Finn they ruined him

  6. They’re just making Finn worse and worse, and it’s bringing down every other character it touches. Can’t Emmerdale have a single gay character that doesn’t belong in jail?

I’d like to see Aaron interact with his newly returned grandmother. Had he ever met her before? I know she’s busy with Chas/Cain/Debbie/Sarah and he’s busy with the trial and the wedding, but it would be good to explore that as well.

I don’t want Ste and JP to get back together. I understood why they initially were pulled together in the aftermath of Doug’s death, but that was before Ste treated JP horribly. The only silver lining would be that Harry can get a boyfriend either his own age or who can manage to stay off the streets without Harry’s dad’s support.
