It looks like the producers of The CW’s “Arrow” have an early Christmas present for fans. Former “Teen Wolf” star Colton Haynes is heading to Starling City in 2013 as the other ‘Speedy’, Roy Harper.

TV Guide broke the news exclusively that Haynes had been cast in the recurring role and his character will also be a love interest for Thea (Willa Holland). For those unfamiliar with the DC Comics’ verse, Roy is a sidekick to Green Arrow and he goes by the name Red Arrow. He also only has one arm and a drug problem…

Of course “Arrow” has made it a point to veer from the comics as far as character development goes so we’re sure the show has their own plans for Roy. According to TV Guide, “Harper is being described as a handsome, street-savvy teenager from the Glades, the harsh, poverty-stricken portion of Starling City.” The CW also told TV Guide that in addition to falling for Thea, Roy is destined to become an important player in the larger world of the show.

“Arrow” airs its midseason finale Wednesday, Dec. 12 on The CW.
