It’s contract renewal time two popular stars on The Young and the Restless. While one star has officially inked a new deal, contract talks with the other have reached an impasse. As a result of the stall, the soap is reportedly preparing a contingency plan should the Emmy winning actor not re-sign. Who’s staying? Who might be on their way out?
Let’s talk about the good news first. Fan favorite Amelia Heinle (Victoria) announced that she has renewed her contract with the soap, ensuring she’ll be around at least through her 10th anniversary. The actress joined Y&R in 2005, winning the role of Victoria Newman after a lengthy search to replace Emmy winner Heather Tom. Prior to joining Y&R, Heinle held roles on Loving, The City and All My Children.
The actress shared the good news with her fans on Twitter, writing: “Thank you for your continued support. I’m really happy to be staying for my tenth year on Y and R! Now we need Billy to sign on again too!”
Unfortunately, her encouragement would fall on deaf ears. Billy Miller has opted to exit The Young and the Restless; David Tom will return as Billy Abbott. For more deets on the switcheroo, click here.
Amelia is definitely THIS fan’s favorite, and it’s great to read I’ll get to watch her for another year. Will miss Billy Miller’s Billy Abbott a lot. but looking forward to seeing David Thom again, and of course lots more of Victoria Newman Abbott!
Amelia Heinle is a fan fave? Uh ok.
