It’s the moment Teen Wolf fans have been waiting for! Fan favorite Crystal Reed is coming back to Teen Wolf — but before you jump for joy, she’s not returning as Allison Argent.

Reed’s Allison was killed at the end of Season 3B and the show has never recovered. As was first reported by BuzzFeed, the actress will guest star in the February 23 episode of Teen Wolf titled “The Maid of Gévaudan,” playing Marie-Jeanne Valet, the originator of the Argent family bloodline.

“Basically, Jeff [Davis, executive prouder] just said, ‘France in the 1700s,’ and I was in,” Reed recounted to BuzzFeed of the conversation that led to her return.  “He was definitely playing into my emotions. He knows that I have been dying to do a period piece and I love getting my head around different accents and different cultures. He didn’t even have much of a character worked out other than it was based on the Maid of Gévaudan. And I knew the legend, so before really knowing anything further, I said yes.”

The flashback-heavy episode will play a key role for heroes of Beacon Hill, who are facing the very creature (known as The Beast) in the present that Marie Jeanne battled in the past.

Check out BuzzFeed’s original report for more from Reed, as well as executive producer Jeff Davis. The interview features Reed’s reasons for not wanting to reprise her previous character, and hints about a potential spinoff featuring the Argents.
