The Young and the Restless has tapped fan favorite Chrishell Stause to play a new troublemaker in Genoa City.

TVLine reports the All My Children and Days of our Lives alum has been cast as Bethany Bryant, a “wild child” who gets embroiled in drama with one of Genoa City’s prominent families. She will first air May 25.

The casting call for the role refers to Bethany an “attractive and sexy” woman who “lives for the moment, always in search of a good time”. Additionally, the character has a “fierce independent streak” and is one who lives on the edge and likes playing mind games. Relationships don’t go beyond one-night stands and hook ups for her.

Chrishell Stause first won the hearts of fans as vixen turned heroine Amanda Dillon on ABC’s All My Children where she starred from 2005 until the series’ network cancellation in 2011. The actress joined Days of our Lives in 2013 as Jordan Ridgeway, a focused, no-nonsense girl with a mystery past – very much the antithesis of Amanda Dillon. Stause announced her departure from DAYS in the fall of 2014, last airing March 2015.

Stause thanked fans for their warm welcome on Twitter earlier today.

Our Take: Finally! Soaps are not the same without Chrishell Stause. Bethany seems like just the lightning rod Genoa City needs, especially in the late 20s/early 30s set. We’re rooting this ‘recurring’ role becomes a little more permanent provided the reaction goes over well. Chrishell is an instant upgrade for any show that casts her.
