All My Children is confirming the exits of Yaya Dacosta and Mario Van Peebles. Dacosta played Cassandra Foster, the adopted daughter of Angie Hubbard (Debbie Morgan). She joined the cast of AMC in April and was slow to catch on with the fans. Her last air date is August 20th and as of now, there will be no recast. Dacosta was the first runner up in the third season of the hit UPN (now CW) reality series America’s Top Model. She also starred in the movie Take the Lead with Antonio Banderas and Alfre Woodard. Decosta has an upcoming movie, The Shanghai Hotel that she has just completed. Coincidentally, Decosta’s rival on ANTM, Eva Marcile (nee Pigford) is currently airing on The Young in the Restless.
Van Peeple’s joined the cast of AMC earlier this year as Samuel Woods, an aspiring politician who made his mark by putting Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) behind bars. The two danced around an attraction and shared a few kisses, though no real romance happened. The character of Samuel Woods will be leaving to focus on his Senatorial campaign and the door is open for his return. Van Peeble’s has a vast and varied career starting at the age of 13. . He has starred in such movies as Ali, Carlito’s Way: Rise to Power and New Jack City. Van Peebles will join the cast of the hit FX series Damages this fall for a multi-episode stint.
