Heather Tom Gets 'Ugly'

Multiple Daytime Emmy Winner Heather Tom (Katie Logan, B&B) will perform double duty this fall, keeping her day job as Katie Logan on the Bold and the Beautiful, while also appearing the hit ABC series Ugly Betty.


Heather Tom Gets 'Ugly'Multiple Daytime Emmy Winner Heather Tom (Katie Logan, B&B) will perform double duty this fall, keeping her day job as Katie Logan on the Bold and the Beautiful, while also appearing the hit ABC series Ugly Betty. Her stint, expected to last at least three episodes, could be extended. According to the Ausiello Report (Written by former TVGuide Soap Reporter Michael Ausiello), Tom’s character will be playing a State Department worker who will interact with Daniel’s (Eric Mabius) long lost son.

Tom began her soap career in 1993 when she joined The Young and The Restless as Victoria Newman. It is this role that Tom is most known for. During this time, the actress earned two Daytime Emmy’s for Outstanding Younger Actress first in 1998, the second in 2000. In 2003, Tom jumped ship to ABC’s One Life to Live as Kelly Cramer Buchanan. The actress enjoyed frontburner storylines for most of her tenure, her biggest being the huge crossover storyline with All My Children in which Tom’s character Kelly was raising the child of AMC character Babe Carey-Chandler (then Alexa Havins).

In 2006, Tom announced she would not be renewing her contract with OLTL, instead opting to try her hand elsewhere. It was rumored she would return to Y&R as Victoria (now played by Amelia Heinle), but instead joined joined the Bold and the Beautiful as Katie Logan. In 2005, Tom earned herself the the unofficial title of the the most Daytime Emmy nominations under the age of thirty when she was nominated for her tenth Emmy. This past year, Tom earned her third Emmy, winning for Outstanding Supporting Actress.
