Film star James Franco returns to ‘GH’ in Spring.
General Hospital fans will have another opportunity to see the weirdness that is ‘Franco’ again on screen this Spring. How exciting for those who enjoyed the character. How unfortunate for those who didn’t.
Franco spoke to New York Magazine where he revealed his character will make a return appearance on the ABC soap this spring. “Franco tells us that this spring he’ll participate in a gallery show at New York’s Deitch Projects that will be shot for a subsequent “special episode” of GH. The Deitch exhibition will relate “to what I’ve already shot on GH.”
Franco alluded to the special episode in an editorial he submitted to Wall Street Journal a month ago, “The folks at “General Hospital” informed me that in three days of filming we backlogged enough material for 23 episodes. There will be one more step. After all of the Franco episodes are aired, my character’s storyline will be advanced in a special episode filmed in a ‘legitimate’ New York gallery. One more layer will be added to this already layer-heavy experiment. If all goes according to plan, it will definitely be weird. But is it art?” The actor wiill co-direct his return episode that is scheduled to air in the Spring.
Franco was set to appear on the ABC soap for several episodes as the artist known as “Franco” and involved himself in the life of mob enforcer Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). The story arc began in November and will come to a supposed close next week. Apparently we haven’t seen the last of Franco and I’m sure the fans who enjoyed the story will be on the edge of their seats awaiting his return. How unfortunate for those of us who didn’t.
