As the World Turns brings back some familiar faces.
Recently canceled sudser As the World Turns is bringing back some familiar faces this spring. The most high profile return of these returns most notably is four time Oscar nominee Julianne Moore (ex- Frannie/Sabrina Hughes). Moore, who got her start in daytime, surprised the entertainment industry when she worked out a deal to return to the soap on April 5th for a one-episode stint. While at World Turns from 1985 to 1988, Moore snagged herself a Daytime Emmy for playing dual roles as half-sisters Frannie and Sabrina. Moore will return as Frannie for her father, Bob (Don Hastings), and her stepmother, Kim’s (Kathryn Hays), anniversary party.
CBS Soaps in Depth is reporting that 3-time Emmy winner Jennifer Landon and Jesse Soffer will be reprising their roles this spring as distressed duo Gwen and Will, though the show wouldn’t confirm the news. Gwen’s onscreen mother, Terri Garber, announced on her official website that she will be returning to the soap as Iris. According to Garber, she will appear in late April and tape through May. As the World Turns will air its final episode of its 54-year run in September of this year.
