From Press Release:

ABC Daytime launches “What If” Webisodes. What if “All My Children’s” powerful Erica Kane met “General Hospital’s” mobster Sonny Corinthos?

What if “General Hospital’s” rogue Luke Spencer met “One Life to Live’s” well respected matriarch Viki Banks?

What if “All My Children’s” hero Ryan Lavery met “General Hospital’s” feisty Carly Jacks.

These questions and more will be answered in ABC Daytime’s new webisode series, “What If…,” beginning online in July at ABC.com and SOAPnet.com. Cut-Down version of the series will also air on ABC and SOAPnet.

ABC Daytime is launching a series of “What If” webisodes on abc.com and soapnet.com in July that answer the question, “What would happen if two characters from different soaps ran into each other, what would they say?”

In a 10-part series that will also air in cut-down-versions on ABC Daytime and SOAPnet, viewers will see well-known characters from “All My Children,” “One Life to Live” and “General Hospital” interact with one another, and will be privy to their conversations. “One Life to Live’s” executive producer, Frank Valentini, will direct the webisode series.

The characters who will interact are:

  • “All My Children’s” Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) and “General Hospital’s” Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard)
  • “General Hospital’s” Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) and “One Life to Live’s” Viki Banks (Erika Slezak)

“We are always looking for ways to drive deeper viewer engagement with our fans,” said Adam Rockmore, SVP, Marketing, ABC Daytime and SOAPnet. “These webisodes are a fun way to answer a long-standing fan question about what would happen in a soap-mash-up.”

The webisodes will be derivative of the characters and their unique past, but are not related to current storyline. They are also available for multiple platform sponsorship and product integration.

Annually producing over 1000 hours of original programming, ABC Daytime consists of “The View,” “All My Children,” “One Life to Live” and “General Hospital,” and consistently ranks as one of the top lineups among the key demographic of Women 18-49.

The network features same-day episodes of popular daytime dramas including “All My Children,” “Days of our Lives,” “One Life to Live,” “General Hospital” and “The Young and the Restless”; favorite primetime series “The O.C.,” “One Tree Hill” and “Beverly Hills 90210”; and original programs including “Being Erica.” Wrapped in a 24-hour environment, SOAPnet is the one destination for stories focused on real emotions and revealing truths about intriguing, yet flawed characters.
