'Ringer' Not A Fit For CBS, May Air on The CW

0

Sarah Michelle Gellar’s triumphant return to television isn’t happening quite like she thought. While her new series Ringer was heavily buzzed and thought to be a lock for air on CBS this fall, reports indicate that The CW will pick up the show instead.

The premise centers on a woman who assumes the identity of her twin sister while on the run from the mob, only to learn there is someone after her sister as well. Reports say that while CBS liked Sarah Michelle Gellar, they felt the show wasn’t a “good fit” for CBS. Ioan Fruffudd (Fantastic Four) and Kristoffer Polaha (Life Unexpected) also star.

The success of Ringer would be a nice win for new CW President Mark Pedowitz, who last month was announced as the replacement for the exiting Dawn Ostroff.
