Tyler Christopher (ex-Nikolas, GH) addresses questions of a possible return to General Hospital.
With the recent return of fan favorite Ingo Rademacher (Jax) and the upcoming returns of Finola Hughes (Anna) and Tristan Rogers (Robert), fans wondered which star from GH’s past would be the next to visit their old stomping grounds. One you won’t see anytime soon is Tyler Christopher (Nikolas).
“To answer all of your questions regarding GH. I was informally asked to come back this spring sometime. However, that was before the regime change. I have not been contacted by anyone regarding plans to return,” said Tyler on his Twitter account. “Right now I’m invested in The Lying Game and having a great time with great actors and enjoying playing a different character.” Christopher has a recurring role ABC Family’s The Lying Game, where he plays Officer Dan Whitehorse.
The actor admitted he was blindsided last March when he was fired. “I was told I could not be afforded and there was no story to tell,” said Tyler to Soap Opera Digest at the time. He later told Soaps in Depth, “One would think that with the history that the character has built over the years, that there’s always something to tell. But, unfortunately, that’s not the case.” He denied his role on The Lying Game was a factor.
After then-head writer Bob Guza was fired and replaced with now ex-head writer Garin Wolf, Christopher returned for three episodes to wrap up his story. “I’m going back to GH for three more episodes, because apparently nobody thought to wrap up whatever I had to say to Lulu [Julie Berman],” Christopher said to Soaps In Depth.
The Lying Game airs Mondays at 9PM/EST on ABC Family.
Tyler I hope you do come back to GH. As a matter of fact I hope you are able to do both shows, GH and The Lying Game. You are excellent in both. GH were fools to let you get away, although it worked out for you because you play a great character on Lying Game. If TPTB are smart (both shows are ABC) they would keep you on both shows. Keep up the good work, looking forward to seeing you on GH and The Lying Game you are an excellent actor.
well i hope you do come back to gerenal hospital
Good decision tyler! Gh is way too unstable. He has a child and family to support. He should also move on with his career. Soaps can be a dead end for actors. I’m not too crazy about the lying game, but there are many other options out there for a great actor like Tyler. I hope to see him in a feature film some time soon.
