'American Idol' Crowns Season 11 Champion…

The winner of American Idol’s 11th season is…..

Phillip Phillips! The 21-year old songwriter from Leesburg, Ga., was crowned champ earlier tonight over 16 year-old Jessica Sanchez during the live broadcast on Fox. Phillips is the fifth male singer in a row to win the competition.

He joins the likes of Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks, David Cook, Kris Allen, Lee DeWyze and Scotty McCreery.

Phillips coronation song “Home” was written by Drew Pearson and Greg Holden. It’s available on iTunes now.
