X Factor Recap: And Your Season Two Finalists Are…

It was a long competition that saw lots of ups and downs, but with four acts remaining, only three would be chosen to go to the finals. America cast their votes and your finalists for X Factor season two are…

Carly Rose Sonenclar, Tate Stevens and Fifth Harmony (yep them).

The show kicked off with a group performance of Skylar Grey & Diddy Dirty Money’s “Coming Home”. After a recap of Wednesday’s performances, hosts Khloe Kardashian-Odom and Mario Lopez began announcing the finalists. Much to the surprise of everyone, Simon Cowell’s Fifth Harmony was the first name revealed. Britney’s stunned expression will make a legendary meme one day I’m sure (see blow). When asked about her reaction, Britney said, “I was a little disappointed. I thought it was going to be the other way around with the groups,” indicating she felt Emblem3 would have been chosen instead.

The next finalist chosen was L.A. Reid’s country crooner, Tate Stevens. That announcement wasn’t such a big surprise as Tate has been in the top two all season. Britney however seemed a little upset that her finalist wasn’t selected yet.

With it down to just Carly Rose Sonenclar and Emblem3, there was a lot of anxiety in the air. Eventually Carly’s name was the final to be called and of course the audience was thrilled. Simon expressed his disappointment but offered words of encouragement to the boys. “This is the way it goes on competitions. I’m gutted really for them because I thought they had a fantastic night last night. You know what, you are going to have a huge career on the back of this.”

Next week America’s votes will decide the winner of X Factor 2013. Will it be the young diva Carly, future country superstar Tate Stevens, or female quintet Fifth Harmony? Only your votes decide.

May we never forget Britney’s expression:
