90210’s Peyton List lands the lead role in The CW’s “The Tomorrow People” pilot.
Deadline reports the actress will play Cara, a female member of the “Tomorrow People” who has a sense of humor beneath her serious demeanor and seems to be a trustworthy ally. List just finished up a recurring stint on The CW’s 90210 as Lindsay, professor and lawyer who engaged in a sexual relationship with Liam (Matt Lanter).
List got her first big break as Lucy Montgomery on the CBS daytime soap, As the World Turns. After departing the series in 2005, the actress set her sights on a career in primetime. Her other credits include Big Shots, Windfall, Smallville, FlashForward and a recurring role on AMC’s Mad Men.
The project, from Greg Berlanti (Arrow, Political Animals) and Julie Plec (The Vampire Diaries), tells the story of various young people around the world who represent the next stage in human evolution and possess special powers, including the ability to teleport and communicate with one another telepathically. Together, they work to defeat the forces of evil.
Phil Klemmer (Political Animals) will pen the pilot. Berlanti Productions’ Melissa Kellner Berman will co-executive produce the series.
