When “Hart of Dixie” returns this fall, there will be some new faces in Bluebell. Hot on the heels of the fantastic news that Kaitlyn Black (Annabeth) has (finally!) been promoted to a series regular for the drama’s third season comes some additional casting news.
Annabeth and Lavon’s (Cress Williams) happy romance bubble might be burst by Lavon’s troublemaking cousin, Lynly. TVLine reported that Lynly, who is described as “beautiful, yet spoiled and clueless,” will move in with Lavon and cause some tension. Antoinette Robertson, who had roles in “Zero Hour” and “A Gifted Man”, has been tapped for the part.
“Dexter’s” Josh Cooke has landed the role of Joel, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Joel will arrive in the season premiere and the character is described as “a New Yorker who finds himself a fish out of water.”
Hmm…that sounds a little like Zoe (Rachel Bilson) when she first landed in Alabama. Since we last saw the good doctor in New York, could Joel be a friend of hers or perhaps a new love interest? We know Zoe (and the writers) certainly like their ‘J’ names (see ‘Judson’, ‘Jesse’ and ‘Jonah’).
“Hart of Dixie” returns Monday, Oct. 7 at 8/7c on The CW.
