Fans of five CW shows can now take a moment and breathe a sigh of relief. On Thursday, the network announced early 2014-15 renewals for five dramas: The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, Arrow, Reign and Supernatural.

The network touted the success of its Tuesday and Thursday night programming this season, as well as Arrow’s continued growth on Wednesday nights. The Originals and Supernatural have doubled the network’s ratings in the key demos and in total viewers versus last season.

Arrow remains the network’s most watched program while The Vampire Diaries is the top program across the board in all key demos in its fifth season. Reign has improved its time period in total viewers and in women. Digital viewing is also up for Arrow, The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural. The Originals was named the most social new series of the fall.

CW President Mark Pedowitz praised released the following statement on the early pick-ups:

“This season we’ve had great success with our new hit series THE ORIGINALS paired with SUPERNATURAL, giving us our best Tuesday nights in years.  THE VAMPIRE DIARIES is #2 in its time period in the young adult demos, and with ARROW continuing to gain among young men, and REIGN growing its time period, we now have strong nights on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday,” said Pedowitz.  “I’m very pleased to announce early pickups for all five series, and let our fans know they’ll have more great drama to look forward to next season.”

There is no word yet on the fate of its remaining freshman drama The Tomorrow People nor have any announcements been made on whether or not Hart of Dixie, Beauty and the Beast and The Carrie Diaries will be renewed. Those decisions most likely will not come before May.
