Emmy winner Kimberly McCullough is returning to ABC’s General Hospital for another stint next month!
The actress’ return was announced on Tuesday, October 27 by executive producer Frank Valentini. “Kimberly is part of our GH family and everyone is happy to welcome her home. There is some really cool stuff planned for Robin,” said the executive in a statement. “It’s a race against time and a trio is formed in a desperate attempt to help save a life that hangs in the balance, but that’s all you’re going to get out of me.”
McCullough departed the series in 2014 after a brief return. Aside from a brief cameo last January, Robin hasn’t been seen. The actress spoke with Soap Opera Digest about her return. “General Hospital feels like home to me. It’s really, really nice to come back.” McCullough has begun filming already.
Co-Head writer Jean Passanante commented on the unresolved plotline involving Robin’s status. “Robin’s fate is something that has been sort of hanging out there in the universe, waiting to be addressed, and [due to] circumstances beyond anyone’s control, really, we haven’t been able to do anything with it. But now we can.”
With the rumored (albeit yet to be officially confirmed) departure of Jason Thompson as Patrick, might Robin’s return lead to a happily ever after for one of GH’s most popular couples of the new millennium?
Look for Robin to pop up in late November.
